Turn Obstacles into Opportunities

The young 24-year-old kid in this photo was stuck in a fixed mindset.  I felt that I needed to prove, in numerous different ways, that I was good enough, smart enough, and doggone it, I wanted people to like me!  I remember thinking that I could never do things or accomplish certain goals.  I thought I was predetermined to be the “fuck up” for the rest of my life.  Plans were hatched but in the back of my mind, I knew they were only empty words.  That little voice climbed in and said, “you aren’t going to do this, and you know it so stay here.”  I had a “never can” or “never could” mentality.

Indiana Jones and The (Food) Temple of Boon

Thanks to the Internet, these Mola Ram types are indoctrinating more people than ever.  The “diet gurus” of the introwebz typically have no degree in nutrition and usually make outrageous claims with no scientific fact to support their wacky theories. 

They vehemently preach the dangers of ice cream, pizza, Subway’s bread, and warn you of chemicals in processed foods, but since they goofed off in high school science class, they forget that everything we eat is made of chemicals.

No one should ever enslave themselves to foods they hate nor should you have to rip out your heart and sacrifice your sanity on the Altar of Dieting Doom.

From a Certain Point of View

Obi-Wan Kenobi tells Luke Skywalker in A New Hope that Darth Vader betrayed and murdered his father.  After Vader reveals to Luke that he is in fact his father Luke confronts Obi-Wan in Return of the Jedi and tells Obi-Wan that he lied to him. Obi-Wan explains that Anakin Skywalker ceased to be and became Darth Vader and the good man inside him died when he turned to the dark side.  Obi-Wan comments that his explanation of Luke’s father’s death was true from “a certain point of view”.
