Football is over. Take at least an hour or so on Sunday preparing your meals for the week. You will appreciate that extra time in the mornings, the cha-ching of savings, and of course the reduction in stress.

Kevin Spacey and the 1% Rule
If you read my previous post, you know that I once aspired to become the next Hollywood star. If you asked me to name one actor whom my generation of men revered more than any other, it would be Kevin Spacey. Mr. Spacey owned every character whose shoes he stepped in. His performances, still to this day, grab you by your balls and demand unfaltering attention.
His career has been full of awards and accolades not to mention inspiring many of the men I knew in college to pursue a career in acting. This year he won his first Golden Globe for his portrayal of Frank Underwood in the Netflix series House of Cards. At his acceptance speech, Kevin said something that took me by surprise. And no, it is not his use of the “F” word.
A Geek On a Never Ending Quest of Awesome
I am no one special. I am just a socially awkward ginger kid who growing up loved Hulk Hogan, Captain America, Michael Jordan, and video games. The latter became an obsession later in life and helped me succeed in procrastinating basically every assignment constantly in college.
Growing up I felt like no one really understood me. I had to cloak my geekiness from many of my friends because, you know, jocks don’t do Captain America, StarFox, Zelda, or science type crap. Nope, it’s all sports all the time, right? It’s odd how we constantly as young people put on new tee-shirts trying to see what fits and what defines our identity. Often times hiding or pushing down the things that we are actually passionate or “geeks” about.
Super Bowl Fun Time Show
In this episode I am joined by two former guests Brian Compton and Nick Sorrell and a soon to be heard from guest Mason Woodruff as we have a round table discussion about the Super Bowl and the NFL season. We even throw in some impressions and do some talking about fantasy super stars and college QBs turning pro.
The Ghost of Christmas Credit
IT’S A WEEK TILL CHRISTMAS!!!
That means Santa and presents and family and that magical feeling you get from watching Star Wars all day.
Christmas is one of the greatest times during our lives. We all have memories of forcing ourselves to fall asleep as kids, so we could wake up early and run to see what was left by Santa
Quick Thanksgiving Workouts
I reached out to a few of our former guests on the show to see if they had a quick 10 minute workout they would suggest IF someone decided to burn a few calories before all the turkey, stuffing, pie, and drinks.
My Time in the Church of Paleo
Fear and sex sale. They are the two most basic animalistic emotions that our lizard brains operate on. Marketers manipulate the two to get us to buy their products. Diet trends, as well, tend to fall into both of those categories.
I Train for a Purpose
Why do I grind in the gym with the same routine week after week? Why do I have a goal of pull a 400 pound deadlift or fighting the urge to get my squat up to 300 pounds? Why in the world would I want to do this week in and week out? The answer to why I train has changed over the last few months. Maybe not so much changed, as sort of finally realized why I do what I do. This is what I have come to realize.
From a Certain Point of View
Obi-Wan Kenobi tells Luke Skywalker in A New Hope that Darth Vader betrayed and murdered his father. After Vader reveals to Luke that he is in fact his father Luke confronts Obi-Wan in Return of the Jedi and tells Obi-Wan that he lied to him. Obi-Wan explains that Anakin Skywalker ceased to be and became Darth Vader and the good man inside him died when he turned to the dark side. Obi-Wan comments that his explanation of Luke’s father’s death was true from “a certain point of view”.
