Be a Badass Warrior Princess: 5 Reasons Women Should Lift Weights
Summer is quickly approaching and for many women, it means heading to the gym to get into bikini shape. For most, this translates to lacing up their running shoes and hitting the streets/treadmill. Weight loss guarantees from magazines and online blogs’ bombard women promising mind blowing results in a short time.
Women often overlook or completely disregard the premise of lifting weights. In contrast to cardio, strength training is by far a better investment of time.
Tetris Planks
Let’s clear this up first. Your core does not equal “abs.” You can have a strong core with no ab definition. Opera singers can manipulate their core to sustain notes, but Pavarotti has no visible abs. Core exercises, alone, are not going to get you shredded.

A Geek On a Never Ending Quest of Awesome

Often times hiding or pushing down the things that we are actually passionate or “geeks” about.
Quick Thanksgiving Workouts
I reached out to a few of our former guests on the show to see if they had a quick 10 minute workout they would suggest IF someone decided to burn a few calories before all the turkey, stuffing, pie, and drinks.
My Time in the Church of Paleo
Fear and sex sale. They are the two most basic animalistic emotions that our lizard brains operate on. Marketers manipulate the two to get us to buy their products. Diet trends, as well, tend to fall into both of those categories.
I Train for a Purpose
Why do I grind in the gym with the same routine week after week? Why do I have a goal of pull a 400 pound deadlift or fighting the urge to get my squat up to 300 pounds? Why in the world would I want to do this week in and week out? The answer to why I train has changed over the last few months. Maybe not so much changed, as sort of finally realized why I do what I do. This is what I have come to realize.
